Guy Buffet (1943–2023) was a French-born artist whose colorful, whimsical paintings celebrated life’s simple joys—think animated chefs, bustling kitchens, and the warm glow of shared meals. We are grateful to have spent time with him and for his playful, exuberant art, which captured the essence of convivial gatherings with a dash of humor and a burst of color. Trained at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he later found inspiration in Hawaii, where island vibes permeated his brushstrokes. Guy passed away on September 21, 2023, in Napa, California, leaving behind a legacy that reminds us art can be both sophisticated and delightfully fun.
